Solar Systems are generally thought to be “maintenance free” as compared to other electric or power generation systems. However, that does not mean that they are completely maintenance free.
While Solar Systems require little maintenance, the generation of the system could be severely hampered if they are left alone for a long time without preventative maintenance.
Here, we will discuss the maintenance of Wiring.
Wiring Maintenance:
- Panel Boxes should be inspected to ensure that they have any rodent or insect infestation.
- Connections should also be checked for any signs of corrosion or burning.
- Switches should not spark when being operated.
- Ground wires should be checked to ensure that they are not broken.
If any damage is found, you should consult with your installer as soon as possible. If damage seems severe, the PV plant should be shut down till it is attended to.
